EDGBASTON

A 13 square-metre Pavegen walkway has been installed permanently at the Green Heart, the redeveloped centre of the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus. The array is harvesting the footsteps of up to 4,000 students and staff per day to power USB charging at nearby work benches.

In a first for the UK, we will also be connecting to Siemens’ cloudbased information management platform MindSphere, enabling us to monitor the performance of the walkway from any device and location.
