ABU DHABI AIRPORT
The first installation of its kind
The Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) commissioned Pavegen and sustainable infrastructure leaders Masdar City, to construct a 16-square metre energy generating walkway. Visitors’ footsteps are triggering interactive data screens, as well as connecting two terminals in the high-tech airport.
Handling around 2 million passengers a month, the first of its kind installation continues to prove a great success within the busy Middle Eastern commercial airport, building on a successful pilot from a previous installation at Heathrow Airport.
KIIN ENERGY, MEXICO CITY
Bringing advertising to life, sustainably
Pavegen partnered with a leading energy consultancy KIIN Energy, with the challenge to bring traditional advertising and messaging to life in a busy Mexico City bus station.
Harnessing the power of commuters, visitors themselves can enable transitions in the advertising display via their footsteps. The Pavegen walkway is also triggering lighting around the installation was well as registering engagement analytics via Siemens’ Mindsphere cloud platform.
